If your non-MS clients understand WS* stack, use wsHttpBinding

J.D. Meier, Jason Taylor, Prashant Bansode, Carlos Farre, Madhu Sundararajan, Steve Gregersen.

If you need to support non-MS clients which understands the WS* stack, the only option you have is use wsHttpBiding which by default supports text encoding and http protocol.

By default wsHttpBiding supports message security, you will have to configure it to use transport security as most of the non-MS clients might not support message security.

If you want SOAP this is true, but for REST you can use webHttpBinding
